Yorkshire Branch Programme

Yorkshire Branch Year The Yorkshire Branch subscription year runs from 1st August to 31st July and has several events which are permanent fixtures in the Branch calendar these are listed as follows with the dates for the 2020/21 Branch year.

The full programme of events for 2021 is still in the planning stage. However, we can give details of some events already organised and dates for others which will take place.

The usual summer and autumn Branch events have all been cancelled, including (sadly) our 60th Anniversary celebration – which we hope to reschedule for next summer, at the same venue in York. Individual members have attended online meetings and talks organised by the Society and other organisations.

Our next meeting should be at Sandal on 30 December, to commemorate the battle of Wakefield. Under current local lockdown restrictions – although these may well change – it will not be possible to meet indoors, and groups of no more than six people can meet outdoors, The Chairman hopes to take flowers to the Duke of York’s statue at Sandal for 2,00 pm, and afterwards go to the Chantry Chapel with flowers in memory of Edmund of Rutland, and if any members would like to come along would they please let me know before the date at angela.moreton2@ntlworld.com, so that we can keep an eye on the numbers attending. It may well be a case of ‘first signed up, first served’.

Meetings will be held at various venues throughout the year. Details will appear here early in 2021.

The event list will be updated regularly for the convenience of members.
